A little more light shows the new flow overriding the older flow from the early 1990's. The blue structure on the left is an above ground pool which serves as a rain catchment to water the vast garden which the owners had planted over the years. Jan 10, 2011
Lava broke out from under the crust late last night and quickly engulfed the residence at the end of Highway 130. Only the metal ribs which held up the roof can be seen near the right of the photo. Jan 18, 2011

Closer view of the property as the lava continues its easterly direction on part of the driveway. Many of the plants which were planted over the years were removed and given to friends. This photo was taken and posted with the owners' permission. Jan 18, 2011
